All
classes will meet at the Jowers Center on the Texas State University
campus.
The
classes in the Learn to Fence Program are designed for people
with little or no fencing experience. All fencing equipment
is provided. Introductory classes may be repeated if desired.
The classes are taught by ATAC Coaches.
Intermediate
and advanced fencers may enroll in Open Fencing with permission
of the instructor.
YOUTH
INTRODUCTORY FENCING CLASS
Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday 6-7:00 PM
Ages
8 - 13
3
classes per week for 2 weeks
Classes
develop coordination, balance, agility and strength, with an
emphasis on listening and concentration skills. Along with learning
the art and grace of fencing, the students are placed in a fun
athletic environment. Students are provided with equipment and
are asked to wear non-marking court shoes/sneakers and sweat
pants or warm-up bottoms for the class.
Fee:
$100 per session
Individual
instruction outside of class time can be arranged with an instructor
for additional cost
TEEN/ADULT
INTRODUCTORY FENCING CLASS
Monday,
Tuesday, and Wednesday 6-7:00 PM
Ages
14 & up
3
classes per week for 2 weeks
Basic
footwork and blade positions are introduced at this level. Safety
and proper etiquette are stressed. Students are asked to wear
non-marking court
shoes/sneakers
and sweat pants or warm-up bottoms. All fencing equipment is
provided.
Fee:
$100 per session
Individual
instruction outside of class time can be arranged with an instructor
for additional cost
Open
Fencing Ages 13 & up
Monday & Wednesday, 7-9 PM
For
those fencers with prior fencing experience/ must provide own
equipment. All three weapons.
Permission
of instructor required
Individual
lessons may be arranged with instructor for an extra fee
